Project Type: Comprehensive Interior and Exterior restoration; Feasibility Study

Under the direction of John G. Waite, the firm prepared a feasibility study for the restoration and reuse of the Old Kingston City Hall (1873-75) for its original purpose, including a history of the building, an analysis of its existing conditions, and recommendations for its restoration. John G. Waite Associates, supervised a full interior and exterior restoration of Kingston City Hall, including cleaning and repointing the exterior masonry, restoring the roof, the front entrance steps, and the existing metal windows. The interior historic finishes, including decorative paint schemes, were replicated. The firm also designed historic lighting fixtures and new mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems. The restoration of the Common Council chamber included the conservation of decorative plaster panels.
